Sinai Chicago is one the largest private safety net healthcare systems in Illinois. SHS includes Mount Sinai Hospital, Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital, Holy Cross Hospital, Sinai Children's Hospital and 14 outpatient clinics. The system employs approximately 3500 individuals and serves a geographic area of 1.5 million people on Chicago's West and Southwest sides.
Sinai Chicago provides a full range of high quality behavioral health services, primarily servicing the West and Southwest Sides of Chicago. Currently, SHS provides over 80,000 outpatients behavioral health visits a year, and provides approximately 1,500 inpatient visits a year. SHS is substantially expanding its inpatient and outpatient capacity over the next several months, primarily in the Holy Cross Hospital area. All of our behavioral health programs provide bilingual services in English and Spanish.

Position Purpose
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, in collaboration with physicians, provides medical care and treatment for clients with psychiatric illnesses along the lifespan primarily in the outpatient setting, with some involvement in the inpatient setting, as well as consultation service on the medical units, Schwab Rehabilitation Hospital and the Emergency Department. Treatment includes assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating the patient care amongst a multi-disciplinary team.
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will conduct diagnostic evaluations and prescribe appropriate treatments while utilizing evidenced-based research within the scope of standards of practice for Advanced Practice Nurses as deemed by the American Nurses' Association. In collaboration with the physicians, the Nurse Practitioner will work within the collaborative practice agreement as agreed upon by the designated physician (s).
Qualifications
Master's Degree
Post Masters-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
Must possess a Nurse Practitioner license and RN license in the state of Illinois.
Clinical experience within psychiatric mental health is preferred.
Clinical supervisory experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting
Knowledge of Psychiatric disorders and evidence-based treatments.
Knowledge of EMR.
Possess knowledge of psychiatric concepts and theory, age specific growth and development, limit setting, as well as crisis and behavioral management.
Current State of Illinois Nursing License.
Current Illinois Advanced Practice Nursing License.
Current Illinois APN Controlled Substance License
ANCC Certification as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner
DEA Registration-MLP-Nurse Practitioner
Current CPR Certification
