Manager Quality, Performance Improvement, Patient Experience
Essential Functions and Duties:
- Responsible for supporting the functions of System Quality, Performance Improvement and Patient Experience Department work. Demonstrates current knowledge of QI principals, tools and concepts and a commitment to continued learning as identified by System goals and Department specific needs.
- Facilitates assigned Clinical Department Quality meetings by planning meeting agenda and clinical data presentation and minutes in collaboration with Department Chairperson and Clinical Analytics. Responsible for understanding data analysis, core measures or applied metrics and effectively communicating quality information to individuals and groups.
- Responsible for facilitating, leading or collaborating on Quality Performance Improvement and Patient Experience projects within the system. Supports improved quality compliance by educating clinical and ancillary staff on quality methodology. Serves as a resource to staff on potentially problematic and complex cases.
- Reviews assigned cases for Quality as part of QIO case review, Mortality reviews, MIDAS review for clinical safety issues including but not limited to falls, pressure injury, PSI, or other events. Completes reports in timely manner or by deadline.
- Attends assigned scheduled and ad-hoc meetings as required. Assists in the development of interdisciplinary teams, data collection and analysis. Demonstrates ability to adapt to emergent requirements for quality and patient experience initiatives.
- Supports System Quality and department goals: assists as needed with execution of projects related to Leapfrog, Get with the Guidelines, Patient Experience, and Accreditation.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
- Registered nurse preferred, Bachelor’s degree in healthcare-related field.
MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Five years in an acute care setting, including direct patient care responsibilities and or charge experience.
- Quality responsibility, performance improvement activity, patient experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. Including oral, written and platform skills.
- Proficient computer skills with experience using software applications such as Word, Power Point, Excel, Teams, WebEx.
- Demonstrated knowledge or skill in statistical concepts, including charts, graphs etc.
REQUIRED LICENSES, Certificates, Registrations:
- RN, CPHQ preferred.
