Patient Care Technician ICU/SICU
The Patient Care Technician (PCT) ICU/SICU (Coronary) performs a variety of functions in the clinical setting.
The PCT provides direct patient care, performs phlebotomy and EKG’s. The PCT collaborates with and works under the direction of the registered nurse to provide appropriate and safe patient care. The PCT utilizes the Hospital information system to order diagnostic tests and therapies and obtain patient information and test results. The PCT supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the hospital.
Skills & Qualifications
The level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of a basic nurse assistant, phlebotomy and EKG program. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with limited direct supervision in a fast paced work environment. Work requires continual attention to details, prioritization of tasks and problem solving skills. Must be able to interact and communicate effectively with team members and patients. Must have good command of the English language.
- High School Graduate
- Up to date CPR certification.
- Certified Nurse Assistant
- Phlebotomy Training / Certificate
- EKG training and/or Certificate preferred
- Compliant with PPD requirements
